I fan di Ed Sheeran possono segnarsi una data sul calendario: il 29 Ottobre. L’artista ha infatti annunciato che tra poco più di due mesi uscirà il suo nuovo disco “=” (Equals).
Nell’attesa il cantautore britannico ha rilasciato un antipasto dell’album, il nuovo singolo “Visiting Hours”, accompagnato da una performance video.
Ed Sheeran e il nuovo album “=”:
“Equals è un album molto personale e significa molto per me”, ha ammesso l’artista.
“La mia vita è cambiata molto negli ultimi anni – mi sono sposato, sono diventato padre, ho perso degli amici – e nell’album rifletto su tutto ciò. Lo vedo come un album della maturità e non vedo l’ora di condividerlo con tutti voi”.
“=” (Equals) , il quarto album della serie intitolata con dei simboli matematici, è il lavoro più completo di Ed.
I brani contenuti nel disco sono stati composti durante l’arco di quattro anni. Al centro del nuovo progetto ci sono le esperienze maturate e le persone incontrate esplorando le varie sfumature dell’amore (“The Joker And The Queen”, “First Times”, “2step”), la perdita del suo mentore e amico Michael Gudinski, (“Visiting Hours”), della resilienza (“Stop The Rain”) e della paternità (“Sandman”, “Leave Your Life”) mentre analizza la sua carriera e la sua realtà (“Tides”).
Dal punto di vista musicale “=” racchiude tutto il mondo di Sheeran: dalle canzoni alla chitarra a momenti con una produzione più complessa, come “Bad Habits”. Il brano è stato il suo decimo singolo a raggiungere il n° 1 della Uk chart, dove è rimasto per ben sette settimane consecutive.
